All of our students had a terrific time and in my opinion the quality of instruction from Justin, Nick and Ryan was first class. Saltwater Training and Harlyn Surf School have worked closely with us over a number of years to provide our children with high quality surf and beach safety lessons. All of our children from years 3 – 6 have benefited from professional input and instruction in staying safe on the beach, hazard identification, emergency procedures and surfing skills. As a headteacher I have always found the planning, preparation and organisation of these days to be sound. Chris has prepared a good standard of health and safety documentation as well as clear learning intentions for the day.

I currently work at Bicton College in East Devon as an instructor/lecturer in outdoor education and personal development. Until last year we provided activities such as kayaking, canoeing, climbing, hillwalking, high ropes and sailing.
One activity that we did not provide was surfing and we felt being based in the south west this was a missed opertunitie.this was also an activity that the students across the college want to get involved in.
The next step was to get staff qualified to run surf sessions. A colleague Jim Davis and I were keen surfers and jumped at the chance to do the surf coach course and began looking for a suitable provider.
Saltwater training was recommended to us by a number of sources and along with ability to do both surf coach lifeguard and surf coach qualifications with the same provider made saltwater training the obvious choice for us.
Booking the course was painless and information and course notes were sent within good time.
Both courses were run professionally and catered to the needs of the individuals. The sessions were varied with a good mix of practical and theory sessions all injected with an element of fun. The trainers were approachable with strong subject knowledge and experience. I felt well prepared for the assessments which were challenging and upon completion came away feeling that I had earn the qualification and have since recommended the course to others.
The plan for the future here at Bicton is to build on the enthusiasm for surfing and surf life saving within our curriculum and also within the boardriders club, with the view to sending learners to saltwater training gain internationally recognised qualifications.

I have really enjoyed the experience and relevant topics covered within this course. I would like to thank the instructors and Saltwater Training for their dedication and knowledge of which they have shared with me.

This is to confirm that Saltwater Training have provided Lifeguard training for RNLI Beach Rescue throughout the build up to the 2002 summer season.
They have run full courses for newcomers to lifeguarding and also up-date courses for experienced Lifeguards needing to re-quality.

They have maintained a high standard throughout the training while taking the candidates through the NARS Beach Lifeguard Award.

Many thanks for the above courses that my RNLI Beach Rescue Carrick Lifeguards recently successfully undertook.
You will be pleased to know the feedback was extremely positive and in particular how professionally the course was run.

Additionally, the guards were impressed not only at the level of knowledge the instructors possessed but the way they were able to impart it on an enjoyable and fun way.

We will definitely be using your training centre in the future, as there are at least 50 lifeguard at Carrick continually needing to renew their qualifications as well as the training of recruits to the 'RNLI Voluntary Lifeguards Scheme'.

It is great to know that we have sourced a reliable and efficient training venue for these essential requirements.

Having attended the training and examinations organised for the Lifeguard Service last month I would like to take this opportunity to give you some feedback on the course.
Firstly the quality of instruction was high and well received by all present. The instructors were clearly highly knowledgeable in their subject matter and communicated it at a level that was suitable for the lifeguards.

Secondly the manuals were of a high quality and were a useful accompaniment to the course.

I feel more confident in the water and a lot more confident helping people in danger.
